Less than most people think. Between FHA loans, USDA loans, VA loans, and state-sponsored down payment assistance programs, many buyers in Utah and Nevada can purchase a home with 0%–3.5% down — and sometimes with closing cost help too.

As an independent broker we are familiar with all available assistance programs and apply for them alongside your primary mortgage. There is no extra cost to you for using DPA — it is built into the loan process.

Utah Housing Corporation (UHC)

The most widely used DPA program in Utah. Provides a second mortgage loan covering 3.5%–6% of the purchase price to cover your down payment and some closing costs.
